Eid Vaccation

The government has announced an additional public holiday on March 18 on the occasion of the holy Eid-ul-Fitr. As a result, government employees will now enjoy a consecutive seven-day holiday.

The decision was approved at a cabinet meeting held at the Secretariat on Thursday. State Minister for Primary and Mass Education, Bobby Hajjaj, confirmed the information to journalists after the meeting.

Earlier, the Ministry of Public Administration had scheduled a five-day holiday from March 19 to March 23, considering March 21 as the possible date for Eid-ul-Fitr. Among these, March 21 was designated as the public holiday for Eid, while the days before and after were set as holidays through executive order.

Meanwhile, March 17 was already a public holiday for the holy Shab-e-Qadr. With the addition of March 18 as a new holiday, government employees will now receive a total of seven days of leave from March 17 to March 23.
