

Five women have received the “Indomitable Women Award 2025” in recognition of their outstanding contributions in various fields of society. The award-giving ceremony was held on Monday at the auditorium of Bangladesh Shishu Academy, organized by the Ministry of Women and Children Affairs. The awards were presented by the ministry’s secretary, Kazi Golam, as the chief guest.
Arifa Begum was selected as the best woman achiever in the economic sector. Marufa Akter received the award for excellence in education and employment. Nasrin Akter was honored as the best successful mother. Mukta Akter was recognized as the best woman who overcame abuse and emerged victorious in her life struggle. Afrozya Yasin received the award as the best indomitable woman for her outstanding contribution to social development.
The ceremony was presided over by the Divisional Commissioner of Dhaka, Sharfuddin Ahmed Chowdhury. Special guests included the Director General of the Department of Women Affairs, Jinat Ara, and the Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Dhaka Range, Rezaul Karim Mallik.
Organizers said the initiative aims to encourage and recognize women who have brought positive change to society through struggle and success at different levels, starting from the grassroots. They added that such recognition boosts women’s confidence and serves as an inspiration for others.
